Project background

Misuse or overuse of antibiotics is a global public health concern. Notable differences concerning antibiotic prescription have even been reported among neighbouring countries such as the Netherlands and Germany. The CHARE-GD II Sub-project 2 aims to assess differences and similarities between Dutch and German general practitioners and patients' decision-making processes regarding antibiotic prescribing for Upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) in the Ems-Dollart region. URTI is studied because it is a condition commonly related to antibiotic misuse.
