Under Section 45 of the NHG, the relevant Academic Committee must be consulted on all matters relating to teaching, studies and examinations before the Faculty Council takes any decisions. The School Council must duly consider its recommendations and document its opinion; it may delegate individual decisions to the Studies Committee.
A Studies Committee has been established at School V and has the following responsibilities:

The Studies Committee of School V is responsible for all matters relating to teaching, degree programmes and examinations for the degree programmes offered by the Institute of Chemistry, the Institute of Mathematics, the Institute of Physics, the Institute of Marine Chemistry and Biology, and the Institute of Biology and Environmental Sciences. Cross-school matters are discussed in the Cross-School Studies Committee.
