Mercator Fellowships facilitate an intensive and long-term academic exchange between members of the Research Training Group, the interested public and international researchers (Mercator Fellows).

During their stays in Oldenburg, the Fellows organise internal and university-wide workshops, data sessions, lectures and discussions. They advise PhD students and remain in contact with local researchers even after their stay has ended.

The Research Training Group will welcome three internationally renowned Mercator Fellows in the winter semester 2016/17 and the summer semester 2017:

• Angela McRobbie (1 October 2016 – 31 January 2017)
• Banu Bargu (1 January 2017 – 28 February 2017 and 15 May 2017 – 15 July 2017)
• Ruth Sonderegger (1 March 2017 – 30 June 2017)
