Master's thesis
You are looking for a Master’s thesis in an exciting field of research?
We are bringing together behavioral biology, biochemistry, retina research, electrophysiology, molecular biology and neuroanantomy in a unique, ambitious, imaginative and synergetic research group. We are working with lab-controlled testing conditions for the behavior of migratory songbirds and aim to understand magnetic detection occurring in the birds’ retinas, as well as the processing of all navigation-relevant cues in the brain. If you are considering doing a PhD and/or aim for a career in science, our working group could be a very good fit for you. Over the years many master students have contributed to important projects and thereby have become co-authors on significant scientific publications.
For the following research questions we are looking for intrinsically motivated Master’s students:
- Cryptochromes and their role in the retina
- Biochemistry of cryptochromes
- Neuroanatomy of magnetoreception and vision
- Neuronal recordings from the retina
- Magnetoreception in migratory songbird behaviour
For further information, please do not hesitate to contact our lab manager Magda Cardozo (magda.guadalupe.cardozo.mino[at]uol.de) for a first personal talk.
If you have own research ideas – you are more than welcome to share them with us as well!
