Teacher Education Programme Survey

Drawing of three students filling out evaluation forms.

Student assessment of teacher education programmes

Every two years, the Presidential Department for Study Affairs conducts a survey of students in teacher education programmes. Questions address students' assessment of their own skills, links between theory and practice, and interrelatedness of programme components. This information helps us identify strengths and weaknesses of particular teacher training programmes. Furthermore, survey results provide reference points for further programmes development.

In the survey, students are asked to evaluate:

  • Their own skills in subject area, subject-specific pedagogy and education in general
  • Links between theory and practice
  • Interrelatedness of programme components
  • Basic pedagogical skills (diversity, inclusion, German as a second language)
  • Research-based learning
