Rankings

Every year, the University of Oldenburg participates with several of its degree programmes in the CHE-Rankings compiled by the CHE Centre for Higher Education. The results are published in the ZEIT Study Guide (ZEIT-Studienführer). The ranking is determined on the basis of students' assessments of various aspects of their academic experience. Additionally, the university provides data about research, academic and international affairs in order to facilitate comparability. The CHE University Ranking offers the most comprehensive ranking of German universities and universities of applied sciences.

Every three years, the university participates in the Study Quality Monitor (SQM) conducted by the German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW—Das Deutsche Zentrum für Hochschul- und Wissenschaftsforschung). SQM assessement addresses the following topics:

  • Teaching quality and organization (e.g., course materials and management, relevance to research and practice)
  • Academic counseling and advising (e.g., instructor availability during office hours)
  • Requirements and knowledge gained in the programme of study (e.g., competence development)
  • Facilities and services (e.g., rooms, technical equipment in computer labs, library hours)

If you have further questions about methods or would like to learn more about these evaluations, get in touch with our team. See the menu on the left for contact info.
