Knowledge transfer
In the areas of knowledge and technology transfer, the University of Oldenburg wishes to internationalise its start-up activities in the future and to establish mechanisms and platforms for “borderless” knowledge transfer. In a first step, the university is building on established co-operative relationships with existing strategic partners abroad, including Nelson Mandela University, to develop joint instruments for systematically and “borderlessly” supporting start-ups.
Co-operating with international partners enables exchanges on start-up ideas and between start-up teams and can foster the intercultural transfer of expertise. This makes it possible to develop new start-up ideas in ways that transcend borders and allow international start-up teams to emerge. Start-up teams from participating universities can, moreover, more easily gain access to investors and strategic co-operation networks in partner countries. This opens up new target groups and new markets that remain accessible even after the end of the project duration.
As a first step, the university is planning to open up the annual Oldenburg Entrepreneurial Summer School to interested members of Nelson Mandela University.
