Was ist ein medizinisches Datenintegrationszentrum?
Früher wurden klinische Routinedaten selten für die Forschung genutzt. Doch in den letzten Jahren entstanden zahlreiche nationale und internationale Projekte, um diese Daten zu harmonisieren und standortübergreifend für die Forschung zugänglich zu machen. Ein zentrales Ziel der Medizininformatik-Initiative (MII) und ihrer Konsortien ist die Erschließung und Vernetzung dieser Daten – unterstützt durch medizinische Datenintegrationszentren (DIZ/MeDIC) an deutschen Universitätskliniken. Gefördert durch die MII und das Netzwerk Universitätsmedizin (NUM), ermöglichen diese Zentren lokale, nationale und internationale Forschungsprojekte.
Since 2023, such a medical data integration centre has been established at University Medicine Oldenburg(MeDIC-UMO). The main local objective is to support clinical research and care in Oldenburg by simplifying and standardising the provision of routine medical data. In addition, the MeDIC-UMO will connect Oldenburg to the organisational and technical infrastructures of the national, research-related exchange of routine medical data. Together with the other DIZs and central components, a nationwide, interdisciplinary, organisational and technical structure for the research-related use of clinical routine data from patient care will be made available. This structure is productive and covers the necessary processes from the application to the provision of data.
