The COMPOSE (Combined Optimisation Methodology for Planning of Municipal Multi-Energy Systems) framework offers a pathway for municipalities to plan sustainable energy systems for the future. By integrating multi-stage genetic algorithms, optimal power-flow analysis, and energy-management strategies, COMPOSE enables cities to design technically reliable, cost-efficient, and low-emission energy systems. The framework strengthens the transition toward emission neutrality through coordinated planning across electricity, heat, gas, and hydrogen sectors.
