The application and selection process is as follows:
- Applications are only accepted during the application deadlines (see left) and via Stud.IP.
- After the application deadline, the documents will be checked by the Scholarships service centre and any missing documents will be requested - usually by email.
- From the complete applications, the President of the University and another member of the Board of Trustees will make a pre-selection of suitable candidates from the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes and recommend them to the other members of the Board of Trustees.
- At a meeting of the Board of Trustees - usually in September - the scholarship holders of the year are determined according to a points system.
- Shortly afterwards, the applicants receive an acceptance or rejection letter.
- Funding begins at the start of the next semester.
- At a small awards ceremony, the scholarship holders are honoured by the Board of Trustees and invited to a personal exchange. Participation in the award ceremony is expressly requested.
