Processing framework
Duration for which the personal data is stored
Personal data from application and selection procedures is stored for a period of 15 years in accordance with the NArchG and the Nds. AktO or in accordance with the retention periods applicable to the independent study funding organisations and then destroyed.

Purpose for which personal data is processed and scope of processing
The purpose of data collection is to enable the application and selection procedures of study sponsors. These include independent foundations with legal capacity, the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture and the University of Oldenburg itself.
Legal basis for processing
The collection and processing of personal data in the context of application and selection procedures for study funding programmes at the University of Oldenburg is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.
Provision of data
The provision of personal data is necessary for participation in application and selection procedures.
Consequences of not providing the data
Without providing the data, an application cannot be accepted and study funding cannot be granted.
Disclosure and international reference
Personal data will be passed on to third parties within the framework of the agreements concluded between the sponsors and the University of Oldenburg, where these are independent legal entities with legal capacity.
The University is also obliged under Section 13 StipG to regularly report statistical data on scholarship recipients and scholarship donors to the Lower Saxony State Office for Statistics.
Your rights as a data subject
As a data subject affected by data processing, you have the following rights:
- You can request information about the personal data stored about you free of charge at any time.
- If your personal data is incorrect, you can request that it be corrected at any time.
- You can request the deletion of your personal data at any time.
- You can request the restriction of the processing of your personal data at any time.
- You can object to the processing of your personal data at any time.
- You have the right to receive the personal data concerning you in a commonly used and machine-readable format and to transmit those data to another controller(right to data portability).
