Step 1: Finding a supervisor at UOL

Find an academic supervisor at UOL suitable for the research field of your planned doctoral project.

There are various options for financing your doctorate. Look for suitable positions for scientific staff at the University of Oldenburg or for a scholarship to finance your doctoral studies. 

International doctoral candidates can find further information on the website of the International Office and on the page of the counselling office for doctoral candidates.

Step 2:

• Admission as a doctoral candidate at one of the UOL Schools/Faculties 

An admission to the Graduate School OLTECH also requires the admission as a doctoral candidate. If you are not yet admitted as a doctoral candidate at the School/Faculty II, V or VI, please fill in the application form of the doctorate committee board of the respective School/Faculty:

 School/DfI II,  School/Faculty V, School/Faculty VI.

The doctorate committee boards of the schools/faculties decide about the admission as a doctoral candidate. The doctorate committee boards meet on several dates during the term:

Generally, a supervision agreement is concluded between the doctoral candidate and the supervisor at the beginning of the doctorate. The  Graduate School OLTECH has developed a template for this purpose:

To apply for the Graduate School OLTECH, please fill in the online application form. 

As soon as OLTECH has received your online application, we will contact you by email and you can start using OLTECH's services.

An application is possible all over the year. 

The admission to the OLTECH doctoral (degree) programme „Neurosensory Science and Systems” will follow to the next possible term. 

Enrolment as a doctoral candidate at the UOL

For doctoral candidates at the University of Oldenburg, an enrolment in your subject (e.g. Biology, Physics, ...) should take place after your admission by the faculty/school. For the enrolment at the university please use this online registration form. 

Enrolment in the doctoral degree programme „Neurosensory Science and Systems” takes place after admission to this programme.
