CAPRIGHT
Resources, rights and capabilities: in search of social foundations for Europe (CAPRIGHT)
Funded by the European Commission’s Sixth Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development CAPRIGHT mobilizes a European research network. The promotion of individual and collective capabilities underpins CAPRIGHT’s research on the relations between labour markets, employment and welfare regimes. CAPRIGHT integrates two approaches into one process: one addresses resource regimes, the other inequalities in capabilities, developed from the work of Amartya Sen. This involves disciplines of anthropology, economics, history, law, political science, philosophy and sociology. CAPRIGHT assembles 22 partners from 13 European countries: Most of the partners are already deeply involved in European research and politics. CAPRIGHT organizes researchers in 5 research streams. Among these, the University of Oldenburg’s team collaborates closely with several other European research establishments on the issue of employment and regional development.
