Students of the PPRE lecture "Energy Storage” held by Dr. Martin Knipper recently went on an exciting excursion.
The excursion included two stops in the town Varel, which is nearby Oldenburg. The first stop was the hybrid storage facility be.storaged GmbH. After an in-depth explanation of how the energy storage works, the students were allowed to view the storage modules up close. The second stop was at Deutsche WindGuard where the group also received insights on the different services at offer. They also met a former PPRE student, Muhammad Omer Khan (SuRE 2019-21), who is now an employee at Deutsche WindGuard in Varel. He reflected on his path from studying to working in the energy storage field, which gave additional input.
The trip was much appreciated and many thanks to everyone involved.
