Do you think that small things make the world go round? Would you like to work in an international team? Then the master program Microbiology in Oldenburg is the right place for you! You can expect a variety of topics such as microbial physiology and diversity or molecular mechanisms and interaction. The smallest creatures in the world´s oceans are examined in several practical courses to provide you with a hands-on experience in microbiological methods during your studies.
The study program focusses on marine microbiology. However, the skills you gain will prepare you for the whole spectrum in the field of modern microbiology.
Our lecturer Dr. Bert Engelen and our Master's student Sönke Rolfes will give you an insight into the various opportunities that our study program at the ICBM offers you.
We will start with a lecture and afterwards we will have time for your questions.

Master Umweltmodellierung
Du liebst die Herausforderung komplexer Zusammenhänge? Um Umweltfragestellungen zu
lösen, ist Dir kein Datenberg zu hoch? Dann bist Du im Masterstudiengang Umweltmodellierung in
Oldenburg genau richtig! Dich erwarten eine Vielzahl an Themen wie Klimamodelle, statistische Ökologie oder Energieinformationssysteme. Mehrere Praktika und Übungen sind fester Bestandteil des Studiums und bieten Dir die Möglichkeit, Dein theoretisches Wissen praxisnah anzuwenden. Den Schwerpunkt Deines Profils kannst Du in „Umweltsysteme und Biodiversität“, „Energiesysteme“ oder „Umwelt- und Ressourcenökonomie“ setzen.
Unser Dozent Dr. Jan Freund und unsere Masterstudentin Milena Ossenbeck geben Dir einen Einblick in die vielfältigen Möglichkeiten, die Dir ein Studium am Institut für Chemie und Biologie des Meeres (ICBM) bietet.

About the BigBlueButton video conferencing system
We use the video conferencing system BBB (BigBlueButton) for the online broadcast so that you can hear the speaker and see the slides. Interaction is possible via chat or your microphone. Normally only the speaker and moderator activate their camera.
To join, simply click the "Go to the web meeting" button above, enter your name and click "Teilnehmen / Beitreten" ( = Join). Depending on whether you want to use your microphone, select the appropriate option in the following dialogue. You should see something similar to:
1) Participant list
2) Chat - can be used for questions
3) Activate / deactivate the microphone (please always set to mute until the Q&A session).
4) Audio devices can be selected with the small white arrow
5) Activate / deactivate the camera
6) Hide / show presentation
7) Raise / lower hand
