Dr. Dipak Bhowmik
Dipak Bhowmik received his Bachelor degree with honours in Physics with 1st Class from North Bengal University, India in 2012. He completed his Master degree (M.Sc) in Physics from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2014. After completing his M.Sc, he joined VECC Kolkata, India as a junior researcher and completed his PhD degree from Homi Bhabha National Institute, India in July, 2019 where he worked on ion-solid interaction, nanopatterning on solid surface, ion beam development, wettability study etc. He subsequently worked as a senior research fellow at VECC Kolkata from July, 2019 to September, 2019.
Dr. Bhowmik worked as a postdoctoral fellow at several reputed institutes in India from October, 2019 to September, 2023 (at ITER-INDIA from October, 2019 to January, 2020; at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur from January, 2020 to January, 2023; at Institute for Plasma Research from April, 2023 to September, 2023) where he worked on several important problems on material science. He has expertise on nanoscale physics, Atomic Force Microscopy, X-ray Photoelectron Microscopy, Transmission Electron Microscopy, Optical and Electrical properties of material, ion beam, thin film etc. Since October, 2023 he is working as a Senior Research Associate at the Division Microrobotics and Control Engineering at the University of Oldenburg. He is working on characterization of nanoplastic using Atomic Force Microscopy study.
