From the 20^th to the 24^th of April 2026, the 2nd edition of Set4MOST ("Modelling, Estimation, and Control using Set-Based Methods: Theory and Applications") was held successfully at the Department of Computer Science of the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg.

On March 29, 2026, Dr.-Ing. Friederike Bruns was honored with the Helene-Lange Prize 2026 by the EWE Foundation. Awarded every two years and endowed with €15,000, this prize recognizes outstanding scientific achievements by women in the early stages of their academic careers who make a significant contribution to everyday life through innovative approaches in digitalization, with relevance to science, business, and society.

Both initially studied biology, later switched to Computing Science and now work on digital knowledge repositories for research: Oldenburg energy expert Astrid Nieße and Bremen bioinformatician Frank Oliver Glöckner in an interview.

As part of the National Research Data Infrastructure NFDI, they are responsible for digital knowledge repositories - on the one hand for energy system research and on the other for biodiversity research. What difference does data make to research?
