Are you interested in writing a thesis in our department?

There are many possible topics for a thesis in the Accounting & Corporate Governance department. Our research gives you a first impression of the various subject areas. In addition to your own topic suggestions, you can also work on topics suggested by the chair.

In principle, all topics supervised by us should have an empirical component . Bachelor's students who wish to write their thesis in the field of Accounting & Corporate Governance must have successfully completed the module "Financial Accounting". Master's students should have successfully completed at least one other master's module offered by the department in addition to the module "Advanced Financial Accounting".

In principle, applications for a Bachelor's or Master's thesis can be submitted to the "Accounting and Corporate Governance" chair by the following deadlines:

  • 15 January for theses to be taken up in the following summer semester
  • 15 July for theses to be accepted in the following winter semester

To apply, it is sufficient to state your preferred topic and outline your initial thoughts on possible problems, methodology and the relevance of the topic. If you are accepted, the final topic will be agreed individually with your supervisor at a later date. The application must be submitted by email via together with the following documents:
