Educational media
Concept
The relationship between educational processes and media can be considered from various angles: on the one hand, there is the question of how technical media are utilised in educational contexts and, above all, what impacts and effects this has. This, in turn, draws attention to the fact that education has always been shaped by media. One could say that the transmission of cultural techniques is linked to media technology – be it literacy through the primer, or independent learning through e-learning. Furthermore, one might ask how our understanding of education shifts and how teaching changes when film, rather than the book, comes into play as an educational medium.
