Subject-specific academic advice

If you have any questions regarding the content of the Interdisciplinary General Studies degree programme or career guidance, please contact Prof. Dr Brückmann or Julia Lüpkes (for students on the old curriculum and long-term students). We’ll be happy to help if you have any questions or issues regarding individual modules or the General Studies programme itself.

To do so, please book office hours via Stud.IP or send an email suggesting three possible dates.

Study programme coordination

If you have general questions about your studies, organisational problems or questions about course administration (Stud.IP), please contact the study coordinators Dr Sarah Paschelke or Kay Uphoff.

Hardship case

You can find information on the registration process here:
https://uol.de/paedagogik/studium-und-lehre/anmeldung-zu-den-lehrveranstaltungen

As a general rule: An application for hardship relief, supported by evidence, must be submitted to .

When places are allocated, students with a so-called ‘hardship case’ will be given priority. Students who can provide evidence of a hardship case will be added to an anonymised list in Stud.IP and given priority when places are allocated during the registration process, based on a priority-based lottery system.

Early enrolment in the course or enrolment after the automatic allocation of places has concluded will not (any longer) take place.

Supporting evidence: Please ensure you attach a scan or proof (e.g. the child’s birth certificate) to the email as a file attachment. These documents will, of course, be treated confidentially and deleted immediately once they have been reviewed.

Criteria and evidence for a hardship case

  • Serious, long-term illness or disability. Proof: e.g. a current medical certificate detailing the illness and its duration, or a severe disability card
  • Caring for a child up to the age of 14 in your own household. Proof: e.g. birth certificate of the youngest child
  • Caring for close relatives (parents, parents-in-law, spouses, partners, siblings or children). Evidence: e.g. a certificate from the health insurance provider confirming the care required and the associated costs
  • Students enrolled on a partner degree programme at the University of Bremen. Proof: e.g. enrolment certificate
  • Active involvement in the committees of School I, the Institute of Educational Sciences, the Institute of Special Needs Education and Rehabilitation, or the Institute of Social Sciences

Important! Employment is not considered a case of hardship.
