Enrolling in a doctorate

We are delighted that you are interested in a doctorate at the University of Oldenburg!

Individual Doctorate

If you are seeking to pursue an individual doctorate in a doctoral subject, you should first apply to the doctorate committee of the school in question for acceptance („Annahme“) or admission („Zulassung“) as a doctoral candidate, after consulting your supervisor. Please contact the school’s doctorate committee administration directly. A timely enrolment following acceptance or admission by the doctorate committee is recommended.

Information on the differences between acceptance, admission and enrolment can be found on the website Academic Career Paths (cf. Starting the doctorate right).

Doctoral degree programme

Enrolment („Immatrikulation“) in the doctoral degree programme Neurosensory Science and Systems requires both enrolment in a doctoral subject and registration as a member of the OLTECH Graduate School

Enrolment in the doctoral degree programme always takes place as part of a dual degree programme, with the doctoral degree programme being the second degree programme alongside a doctoral subject (the first degree programme). For the doctoral subject, doctoral candidates must first apply to the doctorate committee of their chosen subject for acceptance („Annahme“) or admission („Zulassung“) as a doctoral candidate after consultation with their supervisor.
