Options for post-docs

Are you a brilliant scientist holding (or about to receive) a doctoral degree and you would like to work with us? Wonderful! Check out below which option suits you best.

1. Are you looking for a post-doctoral position in our group? Great! There are several options depending on where you achieved your Ph.D.

If you achived your Ph.D. outside Germany and you haven't lived in Germany during the last two years, you are eligible for two prestigious grants. If you are interested in applying, contact Caterina for support.

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation sponsors two-year post-doctoral fellowships of outstanding young scientists who want to continue with their research career in Germany. Applications can be submitted at any time and typically require half a year to be evaluated.

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action of the European Union grants individual fellowships to excellent young scientists for up to two years. Check the annual deadline on the portal!

The Walter Benjamin Programme of the DFG sponsors post-doctoral fellowships up to two yearsApplications can be submitted at any time.

If you have achieved your Ph.D. in Germany and you want to continue with your post-doctoral career in this country, the most viable option for funding is a DFG research grant.

Are you uncertain which option suits you best? Contact Caterina and discuss your project with her.

2. Are you interested in a short-term visit or in a collaboration with our group? Nice! Contact Caterina to discuss your ideas with her!

DAAD offers also short-term grants for foreign researchers and faculty members from all around the world. It has also an appealing program for reinvitation of former alumni!

If you live in the European Union (but not in Germany!) or in one of the affiliated countries, you can apply for funding to HPC Europa 3. The grant will support your travel and living expenses and also provide you with the necessary computational resources to carry out your project.
