Jean Monnet Chair
"Jean Monnet Chair" - This name of a chair refers to its founding history. It was originally established with funds from the EU "Jean Monnet Programme", which bears the name of the great pioneer of European unification, Jean Monnet. The Oldenburg Jean Monnet Chair is one of the first start-up funding programmes of its kind in the Federal Republic of Germany. It was first established for Oldenburg in 1991 by Prof. Dr Dr hc. Götz Frank - parallel to the chair in Bonn and one year before Bremen. The "label" has developed into a mark of quality for the chair holder. The professorship was initially held by Prof Dr Josef Falke. Prof. Dr Dagmar Schiek (01.04.2001-30.07.2007) received the first regular academic appointment. Prof. Dr Christine Godt took over the now regularly appointed chair on 01.01.2010.
