Another top ranking in the "start-up radar"

Our start-up support celebrates nationwide recognition

Particularly good support for start-ups and top networking in start-up support - this is certified by the start-up radar published today. In the report published by the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft, the University of Oldenburg is once again among the ten best universities in the "Large Universities" category, making it the best in Lower Saxony. It has been awarded the "Gründungsradar - vorbildliche Leistungen 2022" seal of quality. The report also highlights us as one of four positive case studies on the topic of sustainability: we dovetail our focus on research and teaching on sustainability issues with start-up support in an exceptional way. A total of 48 universities took part in the start-up radar in the "Large universities" category.

"The University of Oldenburg has been one of the best start-up universities in Germany for many years. It is particularly important for us to support sustainable entrepreneurship and thus fulfil our social responsibility. The majority of the start-up projects we support also contribute to one of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals," says University President Prof Dr Ralph Bruder.

196 universities across Germany took part in the start-up radar survey. The indicators on the basis of which the ranking is determined are incorporated into six different modules for evaluation. The University of Oldenburg is among the top ten universities in five of these. In addition to a top ranking in the modules start-up support and networking, it is also among the ten best universities in the modules monitoring and evaluation, start-up anchoring as well as start-up sensitisation and start-up qualification. In the current ranking, the Gründungsradar also surveyed the role of sustainability in start-up support for the first time.

The start-up radar is a Germany-wide ranking. For the sixth time, it analysed the efforts made by universities to strengthen the start-up culture. It is sponsored by the Marga and Kurt Möllgaard Foundation and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection and is organised by the Stifterverband.
