The University Archives is the University's historical memory and therefore the place where documents from the University's facilities that are no longer required are stored for future generations. The archive catalogues documents of historical value and makes them available for inspection by interested users, provided there are no legal reasons to the contrary.

The University Archives are maintained by the Library and Information System (BIS) on behalf of the University of Oldenburg.
