Useful software for mathematical modelling, dynamic systems, parabolic PDE, ...
- Software for MCS11 (interfacing fortran from matlab, with applications to ODE and PDE), see also exercises and LN MCS11
- matlab or octave directory on spectral methods for parabolic PDEs and the Navier-Stokes equations; exercises; see also
Lecture notes for summer school Modern Computational Science, Oldenburg 2009 XPP-Aut, by Bard Ermentrout. For installation under linux (recommended!) see there.
Here is a short (probably outdated) HOWTO for Windows (with files, as these may no longer be centrally online in the future)
Installation: downloadxppwin.zip and (if necessary) oldmix.zip. Install MIX, (unzip oldmix.zip and setup) install xppwin (unzip xppwin and copy xppall folder directly to C:\xppall) (seems necessary)Operation: start-menu→freeTNTlite-products→MiXserver start
start-menu→ms-dos-input-request
there: cd C:\xppall\ode and ..\xpp.bat file.ode
where file.ode is a file previously created with any text editor.- Some *.ode files for the lecture S08,
- Java Applet Newphase, online or offline operation: After unpacking, get file newphase.html in browser.
- Java Applet Phase Plane online or offline operation: After unpacking get file phase-local.html in browser.
- a matlab directory or octave directory for playing with gDGL
- Comments on the use of gnuplot, octave etc. especially in undergraduate studies; including a small XPP-Aut tutorial.
