Physical activity after proximal femur fracture - progression and correlation with individual functionality at the end of the inpatient stay

The project is self-financed and is concerned with recording the physical activity of patients during their stay at the Geriatric Traumatology Center of the Oldenburg Clinic after a proximal femur fracture and its effects on the course of mobility and functionality.
Older people undergoing acute treatment in hospital are particularly physically inactive. However, even a short phase of inactivity can lead to considerable losses in muscle mass, particularly for this group of people. This in turn leads to impaired mobility and functionality. Regaining mobility plays a particularly important role after proximal femur fractures. Studies have shown a correlation between physical activity during hospitalization and daily living skills. However, it is not yet known which physical activities are particularly relevant for a good mobility outcome after a proximal femur fracture.
The question therefore arises:
Which form of physical activity is particularly effective in improving patients' functionality on discharge?
