Fear of falling in the course of geriatric rehabilitation: perspective of patients and their relatives (STRAHIL)
The STRAHIL-project was designed to assess whether fear of falling of patients as well as their relatives or close persons can be reduced during the time course of a geriatric rehabilitation program, as well as three months after discharge.
In addition to the assessment of fear of falling, functional tests are performed at the beginning and the end of the rehabilitation program. If possible, a person close to the patient is also interviewed about their fear, that their relative might fall. The aim of the project is to evaluate, whether the patient’s fear of falling matches the perception of their next of kin/caregivers, and how this is related to functional parameters.
