COSYNA
In 2010, the SCO became part of the COSYNA network of hereon (formerly Helmholtz Zentrum Geesthacht). COSYNA stands for Coastal Observation System of Northern and Arctic Seas and aims to establish an integrated observation and modeling system that operationally describes the environmental state of the coastal waters of the North Sea and Arctic. COSYNA provides data and data products to help agencies, industry, and the public plan and process routine tasks, respond to emergencies, and assess trends. Scientific products and infrastructure are being developed in COSYNA to advance the knowledge of the "global coast" and its regional manifestations. Integration with COSYNA has allowed to equip the Time-Series Station with new sensor technology and extend its service time.
