Dohuk University, Faculty of Social Sciences
Dohuk University is a state university that was founded in 1992. It offers bachelor as well as master degrees in nine different faculties and has about 15,000 students. The gender distribution is even.
The university has international relations with a multitude of foreign universities in different European and Asian countries as well as in the USA.
The university of Dohuk has been in a process of development and expansion since its foundation. An example can be seen in the implementation of the for Iraq unique and new Bachelor degree course of study “Disability Studies and Rehabilitation” in 2014. The graduates of this course of study supported by the university of Oldenburg, will work in inclusive fields, e.g. inclusive schools, in the Iraqi/ Kurdish society. The presidential boards of for example The Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg, The Mittelhessen University of Applied Sciences (THM) and the University of Dortmund have cooperation agreements with the University of Dohuk.
