This year, the summer school of the DAAD’s Internationalising Teacher Education project will focus on anti-racist education.
Featuring contributions from Oldenburg, Groningen and Gqeberha, the individual sessions will allow participants to engage intensively with the subject area, and several key issues will be addressed from the perspective of different disciplines throughout the day:
- How do we, as teachers, address forms of discrimination related to origin, race and ethnicity?
- What does anti-racist education look like?
- How can theoretical approaches be translated into good educational practice?
Students and lecturers from the Netherlands, Oldenburg and South Africa will be attending.
26 June 2026 is the first of a total of three Summer School days. The next two will take place on 2 October in Groningen (organised by the University of Groningen and NHL Stenden) and on 30 October 2026 at Nelson Mandela University in South Africa.
We look forward to receiving your registration (online participation is also possible).
Language: To ensure everyone can understand each other, the Summer School will be held in English.
