This year's summer school organised by the DAAD project Lehramt.International is dedicated to the topic of racism and schools - racism-critical education.
The individual sessions with contributions from Oldenburg, Groningen and Gqeberha offer opportunities to engage intensively with the topic from the perspective of different disciplines. The overarching questions run like a red thread through the day:
- How do we as teachers confront forms of discrimination in connection with origin, "Race" and ethnicity?
- What does racism-critical education look like?
- How can theoretical approaches be translated into good educational practice?
Students and teachers from the Netherlands, Oldenburg and South Africa will be there.
26 June 2026 is the first of three summer school days. The next two will take place on 2 October in Groningen (hosted by the University of Groningen and NHL Stenden) and on 30 October 2026 at Nelson Mandela University in South Africa.
