Workshop: Cycling Safely

Cycling is the fastest, healthiest, cheapest, and most convenient way to get around the city. Traffic rules in Germany often differ from those in other countries. To ensure you can cycle safely, we have organized this workshop – a joint programme for international researchers and students at the University of Oldenburg.

In this workshop you will learn traffic rules in Germany and local cycling infrastructure in Oldenburg.

Please note: This is not an introductory workshop to learn how to ride a bike! Space is limited to a maximum of 10 participants.

Prerequisites: You must already be able to ride a bicycle.

Equipment: Please bring your own bicycle. Bringing a helmet is recommended, but not compulsory. If you require a bicycle, please feel free to contact us via email. We can provide you with information on where to purchase or rent one.

Tour level: Slow and relaxed (approx. 14–18 km/h)

The tour will be led by volunteer cycling experts from the ADFC Oldenburg. Participation is free of charge, but voluntarily donations for the ADFC are welcome. Please bring some cash with you for this.

Please be on time so that we can start promptly.

Please register here by 25/09/2026.
