Kirsten Gronau

Kirsten Gronau has been working as a research assistant in the Department of Educational Sciences at the Institute of Educational Sciences at the University of Oldenburg since 2019. At the end of project DiOLL, she worked on the design and evaluation of online learning elements for blended learning teacher training courses, was involved in the development of a concept for school development in digitalisation and gave training courses for teachers on the topic of digital education. Previously, she was employed in the SMILE project in the Didactics of Computing Science, where she developed and conducted Computing Science workshops for girls.

Kirsten Gronau studied the subjects English, Computing Science and History (M.Ed.) as well as German as a foreign language / German as a second language (M.A.). She also has experience as a teacher at an integrated comprehensive school and as a university lecturer and trainer in the areas of school development, language in the classroom and digital education.

Kirsten Gronau's research focus is on empirical educational research in the school and university context; in particular on the topics of digital education and linguistic heterogeneity in teacher training and school development. In her doctoral project, Kirsten Gronau is investigating the pedagogical reasoning of student teachers in the context of digital education, particularly in relation to artificial intelligence technologies.
