BSc/BA/MSc/MA theses

The lab continuously offers Bachelors or Masters thesis projects for students from a variety of different study programs. In the past, students pursuing degrees in Music, Mathematics, Physics, Hearing Technology and Audiology, and Cognitive Neuropsychology have conducted research projects in the lab. Topics as well as co-supervision agreements are designed on an individual basis. Contact Kai Siedenburg if you are interested. 

Exemplary thesis topics: 

  • Measuring and modeling musical instrument identification of normal-hearing and hearing-impaired listeners
  • In the dip listening: a comparison of speech and music perception
  • Acoustical determinants in musical scene analysis
  • Spectral energy profiles of popular music recordings 1945-2020

Research assistant ("HIWI") positions & internships

We are often looking for motivated students to go forward with acoustical analyses, data collection, and project work. Please contact Kai Siedenburg if you are  interested.
