Instrumental and Vocal Practice
Instrumental and Vocal Practice
The two main pillars of instrumental and vocal practice are, on the one hand, individual instrumental and vocal tuition and, on the other, the many ensembles, both large and small. These two areas are closely interlinked.
A distinctive feature of individual tuition at the University of Oldenburg is the great freedom of choice: students at the Institute of Music are free to choose their lessons according to their strengths and needs; they can continue with what they are familiar with or take up something new, depending on their course of study and academic goals.
In the Institute of Music’s approximately 15 ensembles, what is learnt in one-to-one lessons is put into practice. Here, students work on projects that span different styles, genres and disciplines; these projects extend far beyond the university campus and enrich the cultural life of the city and region of Oldenburg.
