Use of tuition fees
From the 2010/11 winter semester onwards, tuition fees will be allocated in accordance with the revised guidelines on the distribution and use of tuition fees. The aim is to make the use of tuition fees for university-wide tasks more transparent and to broaden the basis for student participation in consultations regarding central funding.
What are tuition fees used for?
The tuition fees may only be used for measures to improve study conditions and teaching quality in undergraduate degree programmes and in Master's degree programmes as part of consecutive degree programmes, as well as to improve study conditions. This is stipulated in the guidelines for the use of tuition fees. Anything that does not serve to improve the quality of teaching may not be financed from tuition fees.
How are the tuition fees distributed?
The guidelines for the use of tuition fees include a distribution model according to which the tuition fees are distributed for centralised and decentralised use.
