Sustainability in the Transport and Logistics Sector

Sustainability in the Transport and Logistics Sector

The project „NaTuL - Nachhaltigkeit in der Transport- und Logistikbranche“ is funded by the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung within the InnoVET PLUS funding line. In this collaborative project, our chair, together with the Department of Vocational and Business Education and the Centre for lifelong learning, is addressing the challenges and opportunities arising from changing sustainability frameworks in transport logistics.

On the one hand, changing legal requirements, and on the other, the increasing environmental awareness of society, are putting pressure on companies. However, many companies do not fully exploit their potential for action. This is where the project comes in: it addresses legal changes and aims at a new generation of professionals who will promote sustainable practices in transport logistics through innovative ideas.

The goal of the project is to establish an innovative IHK certification course for trainees operating in the field of transport logistics. The trainees will not only be trained on a technical level but will also develop an awareness of sustainable practices. They will be empowered to consider ecological and social aspects in their daily work processes to make the transport logistics sector more sustainable.
