What does accessibility actually mean?
Wheelchair users need ramps - people who can get around without a wheelchair are also aware of this. But sometimes wide doors and ramps alone are not enough... Accessibility means that people with and without impairments can participate equally in life in society. Accessibility thus encompasses much more and relates both to people with a wide range of impairments and chronic illnesses, as well as to different areas of life.
In addition to barriers in the environment, there are also mental barriers - e.g. the lack of awareness of the barriers many people face and what they mean for their independent lives.
Make your personal barriers visible to everyone at the university so that something changes!
