Exhibition: Inclusion: Wish or Reality?

10.06.2025, 9:00 to 16:00, BIS hall

Desire or reality? This question is of particular importance when it comes to inclusion as a social task within the university.

Universities are more than just educational institutions - they are places of exchange, innovation and social transformation. Inclusion should not just be a concept here, but a lived reality. But how often does the desire for an inclusive university remain unfulfilled, and how can we turn it into reality?
Inclusion is not just a wish or a social task, but also a basic prerequisite for an equitable and diverse society - both on a collective and individual level. Diversity and equal opportunities play a central role in ensuring that everyone has the same opportunities and access, regardless of their origin, gender, sexual orientation, disability or other individual characteristics.

Over the past year, we have dealt intensively with this important topic at our university and in the . In doing so, we not only shed light on the topic academically, but also politically and artistically and brought in personal perspectives.

In a podcast, Prof Dr Katharina Al-Shamery, Vice President for Academic Career Paths, Equal Opportunities and International Affairs, Dr phil. Martin Podszus, representative for the interests of students with disabilities or chronic illnesses, the Autonome SchwuRef of the University of Oldenburg (would you like to have your name added) and Hanna Naber, MdL (SPD), shared their views on this complex topic.

Now we not only want to share the results with you, but also use them as a starting point for a lively exchange - at our exhibition on 10 June from 9:00 to 17:00 in the BIS hall.

Do you have your own thoughts or experiences on inclusion, diversity and equal opportunities? Come along, share your perspectives and discover what others have to say.
