Showcase for the marine sciences in Oldenburg
On the occasion of Oldenburg "City of Science" in 2009, the ICBM had a replica of its research platform designed and built. The exhibition's concept is aimed at everyone: Marine Research is displayed from being intelligible to all to being addressed at scientists. There is even a children's play corner for the youngest visitors. From May to September 2009, about 4000 people visited the research platform's replica to learn about the work at the Institute for Chemistry and Biology of the Marine Environment.

Great public interest
Due to the great success of the exhibition, the replica of the research platform went on tour in Northwestern Germany in 2010 and 2011. Every two weeks, the exhibition was on display on a new location. So far, about 12,000 people have visited the exhibition

On the occasion of the opening of the "Schlaues Haus" in Oldenburg at the end of September 2012, the research platform's replica again presented the work of the ICBM. A three-month tour is scheduled for 2013
