ChemOL in the study phase
ChemOL has been an integral part of the training of future teachers for years. The school lab is a practical course for students of the subject Interdisciplinary Science Education in the two-subject Bachelor's programme. In the latter, it is part of the advanced module "Science and Technology Teaching in Practice".
The students acquire basic competences in the design, embedding and implementation of scientific, especially chemical, experiments with children of primary school age or at special schools. After an introductory phase, the focus is on the independent supervision of groups of pupils and a final reflection on this activity in the form of joint and independent analyses.
