Greenhouse gas balance, ranking & sustainability report
The Center for Environmental and Sustainability Research (COAST) at the University of Oldenburg is looking to fill the position of a student assistant from 01.05.2023.
The working hours are 40 hours/month.
Background of the position:
In 2023, various controlling tasks will arise in connection with the university's sustainability activities. These relate to the following projects:
- Preparation of the greenhouse gas balance for the University of Oldenburg for the balance year 2022 (Q2 2023)
- Participation in the Green Metrics Ranking (Q3 2023)
- Preparation of the fourth sustainability report (Q4 2023/Q1 2024)
The student assistant will provide significant support and guidance for these projects. The position is based at the Center for Environmental and Sustainability Research and is planned for the summer semester 2023 and the winter semester 2023/2024.
Work steps and tasks:
- Analysing the data required for the balance sheet and ranking with regard to an efficient query of the respective administrative areas
- Query and preparation of the required data
- Researching the current emission factors for the greenhouse gas balance
- Active support for the course on developing the sustainability report in the winter semester
- Coordination with the sustainability reporting working group and other university committees
Prerequisites:
- At least a good Bachelor's degree in a relevant degree programme
- Distinctly independent and autonomous way of working
- Very good project management skills
- Good ability to carefully familiarise yourself with details
- Good communication skills and a confident demeanour
- Basic knowledge of greenhouse gas accounting and sustainability reporting
