What is happening in sustainability research in Oldenburg?

At the invitation of OFFIS, scientists from Oldenburg met to discuss joint research in the field of sustainability as part of a poster session.

At the invitation of research group leader Dr Alexandra Pehlken and Institute Director Prof Dr Susanne Boll, scientists from Oldenburg met at OFFIS in October 2023 to discuss joint research in the field of sustainability as part of a poster session.

The OFFIS Sustainable Manufacturing Systems group presented relevant research results on sustainability reporting and from the CIRC-UITS, AVKVIN and EDNA projects. The Institute's Society division was also represented with an award-winning demonstrator from Dr Marion Koelle 's working group.

The EDNA research partners of the Jade University presented their own research results from the EDGE data economy. Almost the entire working group of long-time OFFIS colleague and group leader Urte Brand-Daniels from the DLR's Institute of Networked Energy Systems was represented with its current research approaches.

The DFKI 's contribution on Green Auto Machine Learning, which is closely related to the work of OFFIS in the AI competence cluster, was also very pleasing. And, of course, the University of Oldenburg was not to be missed: The Center for Environmental and Sustainability Research was also represented.

During the stimulating discussion, it quickly became clear that this event should be repeated. There will certainly be another Sustainability Session in 2024.

We are already looking forward to next year and will be happy to take part again!
