Operating instructions
The Hazardous Substances Ordinance stipulates that operating instructions must be drawn up for all hazardous substances, on the basis of which employees must be instructed on the correct handling of hazardous substances when they start work and then on an annual basis.
The operating instructions must be signed by the head of the facility, who is responsible for the accuracy of the content. The samples on this page can be used as a template.
The instructions must be carried out by the head of the facility or a person authorised by him/her. Participation must be confirmed by the employee's signature. The instruction process gives the operating instructions the character of the employer's work instructions under insurance law. The signature lists must be kept for at least 2 years.
