Didactic patterns for experience-orientated design of good teaching with digital technologies
The BMBF project eCULT aims to improve the quality of teaching through the use of digital learning technologies that promote learning. In contrast to other projects funded by the Quality Pact for Teaching, what is conducive to learning is not determined by research specifically carried out for this purpose, but by experience gained in teaching practice. The knowledge extracted from teaching practice at all universities involved in the project on the use of digital learning technologies to promote learning forms the basis for the development of a knowledge base for the experience-orientated design of "good teaching".
The knowledge base is structured into two analytical knowledge areas on Utilities and eCompetence:
- The Utilities knowledge area focuses on requirements extracted from teaching practice for the development of didactically customised digital learning technologies.
- The eCompetence knowledge area focusses on the didactic design of the use of utilities in teaching practice to promote learning.
An essential element for the practical implementation of the results obtained is a third, application-orientated knowledge area, which is still being developed and aims to prepare and communicate the knowledge gained in the eCULT network in such a way that it can be used at every eCULT university to design good teaching by teachers and supporting didactic advisors.
Didactic patterns form the formative basis for recording and processing the knowledge gained from experience. These are suitable as structuring description formats for the learning-effective use of utilities and as a methodological concept to systematise the work of the didacticians at the eCULT network level and to make the work results available to teachers and didactic advisors in the sense of securing results in the long term.
eCULT would like to make the concrete results in the form of utilities and didactic design concepts that have emerged and are emerging as part of the development of the knowledge base available to the university's teaching staff for selection and practical use via the IT infrastructure. This (upcoming) offer will be accompanied by correlating further education programmes in university didactics.
