Future scenarios of digitalisation
Future scenarios of digitalisation
From an interdisciplinary perspective, this research focus deals with the challenges, opportunities, limits and effects of digital reorganisation and restructuring in research, teaching and society. In particular, it reflects on the social impact of future scenarios of digitalisation on current developments and decision-making processes in various areas of society such as politics, education, science and sport. This focus pursues its own projects (e.g. on game analyses as laboratories for the application of digital analysis tools) and, thanks to its socio-theoretical and contemporary diagnostic orientation, also offers a level of reflection on its own activities in the above-mentioned focal points and generates corresponding research-relevant intersections. Collaboration in this area is to be strengthened in the future and corresponding formats of exchange developed. The projects in this focus area are supported on the one hand by the professorship Digital Media and Knowledge Processes (FK IV, Institute of History/DSM Bremerhaven), and on the other hand they are anchored in the Academic Centre Genealogy of the Present (FK I, III and IV), which already runs a thematically relevant doctoral programme with the same title. For School IV, the Institute of Sport Science and the Institute of History are involved.
