Vote now and with a bit of luck win a €15 voucher for the ‘Stube’!
To mark the 50th anniversary of Carl von Ossietzky University, we would like to highlight student research through a photo competition. Whether in the lab, on an excursion, in the archive or collecting data ... students show us what they research!
You can vote for your favourite photo from 30.10.2024 to 10.11.2024. Your public favourite will be unveiled with the three jury prizes on 20 November 2024. All photos will then be on public display in the StudiLounge at the university for a fortnight.
How can I take part in the public vote?
Join the Stud.IP forum and agree to the conditions of participation. Select the tab ‘Publikumsabstimmung/Public Vote’, under ‘Questionnaires’ you will find all the photos. Take a look at the photos, the photo title and the description and vote for your favourite photo by selecting the number of the photo and clicking on ‘Save’.
If you would like to take part in the voucher prize draw, also enter your email address and first and last name in the text field provided. Only then select ‘Save’. Five of the participants in the voucher prize draw will be drawn and each will receive a €15 voucher for the Stube.
What is student research?
During your studies you will encounter many interesting topics in your courses. You will be encouraged to think outside the box. Depending on your course, you may be required to submit a number of assignments or project papers, carry out experiments and record the results, or produce a scientific poster.
But what exactly is student research?
- You have developed your own research question that interests you and you are pursuing it as part of a seminar, project or even outside of lectures.
- To answer this question, you choose a specific method. For example, you might conduct interviews, carry out a literature review, analyse a data set, carry out experiments or even choose an experimental approach.
- Finally, you will present your findings and share them with your fellow students. This could take the form of a term paper, a poster, an article, a podcast, an object or a presentation.
How can I vote for the Audience Prize?
Voting will take place in the same Stud.IP community forum where the photos were submitted.
Period: October 30 - November 10, 2024
What happens to the photos?
An exhibition/event with the submitted photos as well as the title and description text is planned for the winter semester 2024/25 at the University of Oldenburg.
Participants grant the University of Oldenburg the non-exclusive right to use and publish the submitted photos (with or without attribution). They agree that the submitted photos may be published, exhibited and used for other purposes such as public relations, reports, the University's website, social media presences and other printed materials such as postcards, etc.
