The contact information collected in the "Mentor Questionnaire" as well as information on academic appointments and expertise are used to set up a mentor database as part of the start-up mentoring programme of the Start-up and Innovation Centre (GIZ) of the University of Oldenburg.

The database is used to match founders participating in the programme with suitable mentors. Participation in the start-up mentoring programme is voluntary. The mentor's contact details will only be passed on to potential founders if there is an overlap with the founders' details in one or more fields under "I offer support in the following areas". Beyond this, the data will not be passed on to third parties. Only the employees of the participating institutions have access to the data. The data will be deleted after ten years at the latest if the mentor was not active in the start-up mentoring programme during this period.
