The HyperPod X - Hyperloop Competition Team from the University of Oldenburg and Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences has received the prestigious Nordwest Award 2018. At the award ceremony on 16 April 2018 at Oldenburg Castle, four of the eight finalist projects selected by the jury were awarded a prize of 10,000 euros each as well as the production of a professional image film.

The Northwest Award is organised by the Northwest Metropolitan Region. "With the awards, we honour initiatives and the people behind them who are thinking ahead for our Northwest and working with great commitment on innovative projects for the successful future of our metropolitan region," says District Administrator Jörg Bensberg, 1st Chair of the Northwest Metropolitan Region. "Every two years, it is both impressive and gratifying to see how unique, innovative and forward-looking the many newly created projects in the north-west are."
