About
In recent years, the cultural, social, legal and medical treatment of inter* and trans* people has been increasingly criticised. But what could more appropriate social, cultural, medical and legal ways of dealing with trans* and inter* people look like? How are the needs and life situations of trans* and inter* people organised? And what problems arise with the challenge of a new legal regulation of gender? And "how" - i.e. through which questions, theoretical concepts and scientific methods - is it possible to produce non-objectifying and non-pathologising knowledge about trans* and inter* people?
At the conference, researchers and activists who position themselves as inter* or trans* or who declare their solidarity with the emancipation efforts of trans* and inter* activists will present their work for discussion. The aim of the conference is to further expand and strengthen the existing network Inter_Trans_Wissenschaft by discussing the various forms of knowledge and current challenges in this field of research. It is important to us to initiate conversations and discussions not only between different disciplines, but also between science and activism. We therefore cordially invite all activists, academics and those interested in the topic to take part in the conference.
